Mosquito is Spanish for “little fly”, but these tiny blood suckers are the deadliest animal on Earth – responsible for sickening and killing hundreds of thousands of people worldwide each year.
Mosquitoes have made local headlines recently as the primary vectors of transmission for Zika Virus, West Nile Virus, Chikungunya, and most recently the Keystone Virus, but they’re also responsible for spreading Dengue Fever, Yellow Fever, Encephalitis, and Malaria.
The most well-known and documented of these mosquito-borne illnesses is by far Malaria, which the CDC estimates killed over 500,000 people as recently as 2016. This is why Mosquito Squad proudly partners with Malaria No More, and their efforts to stop the spread of this devastating illness by distributing free bed nets and educating vulnerable populations throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.
